Obituary of Jackie Mae Cavender

Graveside Services for Jackie Mae Cavender of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2017 at Bethany Cemetery on Highway Y near Foley, MO.  Rev. Paul Garven, pastor of the Elsberry United Methodist Church in Elsberry, MO, will officiate.

Ms. Cavender, 66, passed away early Thursday morning, August 10, 2017 at SSM St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, MO.  Born March 9, 1951 in Fort Smith, AR, Jackie was the daughter of Ellis and Nina Ruth Shifflet Burke, Sr.  She was a graduate of Pattonville High School.  Jackie worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft as a blueprint clerk, retiring in 2000.  She loved watching movies with her grandkids and taking care of them. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Nina Burke, Sr.; and one sister, Susan Denise Burke.

Survivors include her sons: Kenneth Cavender and his wife, Jenni, of Troy, MO and Patrick Cavender and his wife, Leslie, of O’Fallon, MO; and five grandchildren: Benjamin Cavender, Tyler Gamma, Trenton, Katie and Colton Cavender.  Jackie also leaves one brother, Ellis Burke, Jr. of Old Monroe; one sister, Jeri Meis and her husband, Karl, of St. Louis, MO; other relatives and friends.
