Obituary of Phyllis Jean Holley

Funeral Services for Phyllis Jean Holley of Elsberry, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.  Rev. Conrad Cheatham, pastor of the Elsberry ARPresbyterian Church, will officiate with burial in Greenwood Cemetery near Clarksville, MO.  Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Hessell, Jack Jones, Ronnie Lindsey, Duke Bufford, James Jameson and Dave Settles.

Mrs. Holley, 68, passed away Thursday morning, July 27, 2017 at her home in Elsberry.  Born June 9, 1949 in Louisiana, MO, she was the daughter of John William and MaryDee Helen Barber Canady.  Phyllis was united in marriage on October 6, 1996 in St. Charles, MO to James William Holley.  She was employed part-time by the Missouri Department of Conservation until 2002.
Phyllis is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 21 years, James Holley, of Elsberry; her daughter, Marci Leifert of Troy, MO; stepdaughter, Jamie Smith and her husband, Christopher, of Union, MO; and two grandchildren: Holly Rouse and Tucker Leifert, both of Troy.  Phyllis also leaves one sister, Cheryl Jameson and her companion, Jack Jones, of Bowling Green, MO; two nephews: James Jameson and his wife, Ashley, of Columbia, MO and Jason Jameson and his wife, Jessica, of Fort Worth, TX; two great-nephews: Jaxson Jameson of Columbia, MO and Justin Jameson of Fort Worth; one great-niece, Jordan Jameson, also of Fort Worth; other relatives and friends.  

Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.  Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a charity she donated to monthly, in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
