Obituary of Travis Thomas McLain

 

Funeral Services for Travis Thomas McLain of Winfield, MO will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO.  Burial will be in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry, MO.  Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Hubbard, Russell Simpson, Nick Gress, Greg Chrun, Cody Gifford, Roscoe Wilburn, Shawn McLain and Dewayne Simpson.

Mr. McLain, 33, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in St. Charles, MO.  Born November 22, 1983 in Troy, MO, he was the son of Thomas Leslie and Julie Marie Sauls McLain.  Travis attended Winfield High School thru the 11th grade, and received his GED.  He worked in construction as a laborer and was a hard worker.  Travis loved anything outdoors, including: swimming, boating, hunting, fishing, dirt bikes and four wheelers.  He was quite the jokester, and always greeted you with a smile.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas McLain, who died on September 18, 1984;  his grandfather, Richard Simpson; grandparent’s Gwendolyn & Andy Anderson; grandparents Les & Maryann Mclain; uncle, Billy Simpson; and cousin, David Simpson.

Survivors include his mother, Julie Myer and her husband, Russell, of Wright City, MO and his step-father, Eugene Anderson of St. Charles; and his son, Travis McLain, Jr. of Winfield.  Travis also leaves his grandmother, Mildred Simpson of Elsberry, MO; four sisters: Malisa Marie Gress and her husband, Nick, of St. Charles, Gena Lee Schmidt and her husband, Robert, of Troy, Ashley Ivon Anderson of Moscow Mills, and Megan Nicole Anderson of St. Charles, several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.  

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.  Memorials may be made to the family of Travis McLain to be used for final expenses in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O. Box 253, Winfield, MO 63389.
