Obituary of Rosemary Daniel Morris

Per her wishes, private graveside services for Rosemary Daniel Morris of Sturgeon, MO will be held at Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry, MO. J. Larry Carter of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home will officiate. Mrs. Morris, 89, passed away late Monday morning, April 24, 2017 at the Sturgeon Rest Home in Sturgeon. Born November 7, 1927 in Elsberry, she was the daughter of Edwin Tyson and Velma Leona Evans Daniel. Rosemary was a 1945 graduate of Elsberry High School. She was united in marriage on November 23, 1946 in St. Louis County, MO to Joseph Franklin Morris. This union was blessed with two sons: Ed and Dan. Rosemary worked as a secretary for Sherman Construction and Accurate Construction. She was a member of Dorsett Village Baptist Church in St. Louis. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Velma Daniel; two sisters: Betty Bankston and Mitzie Shaw; and her beloved husband of nearly 54 years, Joseph Morris, who died on October 16, 2000. Survivors include two sons: Ed Morris and his wife, Nancy, of Clark, MO and Dan Morris and his wife, Georgeann, of St. Charles, MO; four grandchildren: Joshua Morris and his wife, Gina, of Liberty, MO, Stephanie Morris of Winfield, MO, Meghan Morris of St. Louis and Alexandra Shaw and her husband, Craigor, of Moscow Mills, MO; and six great-grandchildren:, Maya, Maggie, Lola, Ginger, Avery and Amelia. Rosemary also leaves one brother, Robert Daniel and his wife, Linda, of Elsberry; one sister, Edwina Farris of St. Louis; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
