Carter Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Jeanne Alice Rodgers Funeral Services for Jeanne Alice Rodgers of Elsberry, MO, were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry, MO. Fr. Tom Wissler, church pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Troy, MO officiated with a burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Anthony Collier, Andrew Mussey, Larry O'Neal, Ed Raby, Jason Barney, Terri Raby and Russ Raby. Mrs. Rodgers, 71, died Monday evening, April 10, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, MO. Born June 19, 1934 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Alice McNulty Steinmeyer. She received an Associates Degree from Sanford Brown Business School. She was united in marriage in 1953 in Arkansas to James William Raby, Sr. This union was blessed with five children: James William, Russell Allen, Bruce Edward, Cindy Jeanne and Vickie Alice. She was employed as a police dispatcher for the Bridgeton Police Department until retiring in 1988. Mrs. Rodgers was married again on June 21, 1980 to William J. Rodgers in Maryland Heights, MO. She enjoyed the internet and crocheting afghans. She was an avid dog lover. She was preceded in death by her parents: Francis and Alice Steinmeyer; and her beloved husband of 21 years, William J. Rodgers. Survivors include three sons: James William Raby, Jr. and his wife, Teresa, of Overland, MO, Russell Allen Raby of Overland, MO and Bruce Edward Raby and his wife, Lisa, of Elsberry, MO; two daughters: Cindy Jeanne Poole and her husband, John, of Elsberry, MO and Vickie Alice Barney and her companion, Jim Niemann of Winfield, MO; eighteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry, MO.
