Obituary of Bobby Harold DeGeare

Funeral Services for Bobby Harold DeGeare of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Roger Briggs, pastor of Star Hope Baptist Church, will officiate with burial in Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons: David Preston, Dwayne Preston, Darren Preston, Christopher DeGeare, Michael Boedeker and Joey Harding. Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Simpson and Donnie Kinsler. Mr. DeGeare, 76, passed away Friday afternoon, March 17, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, MO. Born March 27, 1940 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of George and Thelma Childress DeGeare. Bobby was a graduate of Elsberry High School. He was united in marriage on December 25, 1960 in Elsberry to Mae Ellen Schafer. Bobby worked as a fiberglass tool builder for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, now Boeing. He was united in marriage again on June 30, 1984 in Elsberry to Sarah June Roberts. Their home was blessed with six children: Paul, Vicki, Sherry, Bobby, Kim and Tammy. Bobby was a member of New Hope Masonic Lodge #199 in Elsberry. He was a longtime member of Star Hope Baptist Church. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, George and Thelma DeGeare; his beloved wife, Sarah DeGeare, who died April 11, 2014; one step-daughter, Sherry Wakefield; one daughter, Tammy Boedeker; one sister, Nancy Irving; and one brother, Kenny Golden. Survivors include his children: Bobby DeGeare and his wife, Dianne, of Elsberry and Kim Price and her husband, Ricky, of Old Monroe, MO; his stepchildren: Paul Bishop and his wife, Donna, of Troy, MO and Vicki Green and her husband, Greg, of Moscow Mills; eleven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Bobby also leaves one brother, Tim Golden of Elsberry; two sisters: Jeannie Alexander of New Florence, MO and Kathy Golden of Elsberry; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
