Obituary of Johnny Clinton Rutledge

Visitation for Johnny Clinton Rutledge of Troy, MO, formerly of Elsberry, MO will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Mr. Rutledge, 82, passed away Saturday evening, March 4, 2017 at Troy Manor in Troy, MO. Born February 25, 1935 in Myrtle, MO, he was the son of John David and Thelma Mardell Powell Rutledge. He was a 1953 graduate of Couch High School in Myrtle, MO. He worked for many years as a self-employed auto mechanic, Johnny’s Repair, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elsberry. Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Johnny D. Rutledge, and his mother and step-father: Thelma McDaniel and Chester McDaniel. Survivors include nine children: Laura Drummond and her husband, Steve, of Elsberry, Doris Rucinski and her husband, Keith, of Akron, OH, Sylvia Gibbs and her husband, Dusty, of Moscow Mills, MO, Timmy Rutledge of Elsberry, Gary Rutledge and his wife, Trish, of Southern MO, Nathan Rutledge and his wife, Gina, of Florida, Deborah Harrington of Oklahoma, Roger Rutledge and his companion, Samantha Hulsey, of Arnold, MO, and Johnny Rutledge and his wife, Beth, of Troy; and thirteen grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, Wayman Lee Rutledge of Granite City, IL, two sisters: Janet Blast and Bessie Yount and her husband, Wendell, all of Granite City, IL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
