Obituary of Jessie Margaret Pauls

Funeral Services for Jessie Margaret Pauls of St. Peters, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rector LuAnne Conner of Transfiguration Episcopal Church in Lake St. Louis, MO will officiate. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery near St. Louis, MO on Monday, January 23, 2017. Mrs. Pauls, 84, passed away Monday night, January 16, 2017 at St. Peters Manor in St. Peters. Jessie was born on June 23, 1932 in Birmingham, England, the daughter of Alfred J. and Philomena Sumner Edwards, Sr. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in various nursing homes. She came to the United States in 1966 and began living in Everett, MA. Jessie was united in marriage on June 19, 1976 in Malden, MA to Percy Albert Pauls, Jr. In the early 1990s, Percy and Jessie moved to Warrenton, MO. Their home was blessed with two children: James and Robin. Jessie was a member of the Transfiguration Episcopal Church in Lake St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Philomena Edwards, Sr.; her beloved husband of 28 years, Percy Pauls, Jr., who died November 4, 2004; her stepson, James Pauls, who died September 9, 2014; and her brother Alfred J. Edwards, Jr. who died June 28, 2015. Survivors include her stepdaughter, Robin Smith of Moscow Mills, MO; stepdaughter-in-law, Joan Pauls of Beverly, MA; one grandson, Danny Ross; and one great-grandchild. Jessie also leaves her sister-in-law, Sadie Edwards, of West Peabody, MA; her special friend since childhood, Lillian Baxter of Birmingham, England; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
