Obituary of Mary Alice Briscoe

Funeral Services for Mary Alice Briscoe of Winfield, MO will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Rick Koonce, pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Belleville, IL, will officiate with burial in Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry, MO. Mrs. Briscoe, 88, passed away late Friday night, December 2, 2016 at Lewis and Clark Gardens in St. Charles, MO. Born September 29, 1928 in Lincoln, IL, she was the daughter of Ralph and Ethel Marie Voyles Reichle. Mary was united in marriage in 1946 in Lincoln to George Junior Awe. She was later remarried on July 11, 1970 in Winfield to Donnie Louis Briscoe. Mary worked as a CNA for the Elsberry Health Care Center, retiring in 2000. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Ethel Reichle; one son, Kenneth Awe, one grandson, George Russell Awe; her brother, Robert Reichle; and her beloved husband of 36 years, Donnie Briscoe, on February 16, 2007. Survivors include one son, Gregory Awe and his wife, Amber, of Fort Pierce, FL; and three daughters: Susan Johnson of Port St. Lucie, FL, Linda Cramer of Calvin, OK and Jodi Williams and her husband, John, of St. Peters, MO. Mary also leaves seven grandchildren: Trent Williams of St. Peters, Holly Horton of Clever, MO, Michael Cramer of Woodstock, GA, Somer Awe of Fort Pierce, Cody Awe, also of Fort Pierce, K.V. Awe of South Carolina and Nathanial Johnson of South Hadley, MA; three great-grandchildren: Wyatt Cramer of Clever and Rachel and Rebecca Cramer of Woodstock; other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
