Obituary of Jo Ann Hoeber

Funeral Services for Jo Ann Hoeber of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Father Charles Tichacek, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Mrs. Hoeber, 64, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 19, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, MO. Born March 23, 1952 in St. Charles, MO, she was the daughter of Joseph Francis and Ruby Elizabeth Marling Hemmer. Jo Ann owned Jo Ann’s Bargain Barn for a number of years. She was united in marriage on December 19, 1998 in Annada, MO to Edward Frank Hoeber. She was preceded in death by two sons: Ryan and Craig DeMars; one sister, Patricia Langston; one brother, Richard Hemmer; and her husband, Ed Hoeber, on September 9, 2016. Survivors include one daughter, Corey DeMars of Elsberry; and one grandson, Jacob DeMars, also of Elsberry. Jo Ann also leaves two sisters: Elaine Tiller and her husband, Nelson, of Winfield, MO and Laura Hemmer of Elsberry; two brothers: Gerald Hemmer and his wife, Cindy, of Winfield, Wendel Hemmer of Mesa, AZ; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
