Obituary of Lois E. Thompson

Lois Elaine Thompson Funeral services for Lois Elaine Thompson of Winfield, MO were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Mike Ryan of the Winfield Baptist Church in Winfield, MO officiated with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield, MO. Serving as pallbearers were Arnold Lewis, Bill Beckemeyer, Roger Jefferson, Donnie Sitton, Johnnie Carson, Alan Tayon and John Dixon. Mrs. Thompson, 61, died early Tuesday morning, March 21, 2006 at her residence near Winfield, MO. Born September 3, 1944, she was the daughter of Homer A. and Norma L. Tucker Kite. She was united in marriage on September 24, 1971 in Wister, OK to Noble "Sonny" Thompson. This union was blessed with five children: LaDonna, William, Noble "Sonny", Paul and Kristy. She worked for many years as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Foristell, MO. She was a member of the Winfield Baptist Church near Winfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Norma Kite; step-mother, Viola Kite; three brothers: James A. Kite, Harold Lee Kite and Homer A. Kite, Jr.; three sisters: Wanda Louise Kite, Joyce Ann Kite and Rosemary Crossen Survivors include her beloved husband, of 34 years, Noble "Sonny" Thompson of Winfield; three sons: William Thompson, Noble "Sonny" Thompson and his wife, Charity, of Dodge Center, MN, and Paul Anthony Thompson and his wife, Rachael, of Winfield; two daughters: LaDonna Lynn Gant and her husband, Jeffery, of Winfield and Kristy Marie Lasswell and her husband, Dustin, of Winfield; four brothers: Terry Bates, Bobby Bates and his wife, Sissy, and John Kite all of Granite City, IL and Ronnie Bates and his wife, Rae, of Edwardsville, IL; three sisters: Roxie Kay Doty and Debbie Sue Solomon and her husband, Paul all of Granite City, IL and Geraldine O'Brien and her husband, Jim, of Mount Vernon, IL. She also leaves nine grandchildren: Lucas Kyle Gant and his wife, Bobbi Jo, Casey Marie Thompson, Keri Lynn Thompson, Jody Thompson, Jesse Thompson all of Winfield, Corey Parton of Troy, MO, Tyson and Makayla Heise of Dodge Center, MN, and Jacob Noble Lasswell of Winfield; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
