Obituary of Glenda Jean McCoy

A Mass of Christian Burial for Glenda (nee Bahr) Reeves McCoy of Troy, MO (formerly of Elsberry, MO) will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. Father Charles Tichacek, church pastor, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Roy Morris, Les Lonsberry, Don Burns, Glennon Bahr, Joe Boedeker and Amy Perine; and honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Reeves, Joslyn Reeves, Danielle Reeves and Josephine Burns. Mrs. McCoy, 62, passed away Friday afternoon, September 2, 2016 at her home in Troy. Born May 25, 1954 in Perryville, MO, she was the daughter of Glennon Arthur and Helen Patricia Shaw Bahr. Raised in the Elsberry area, she was a 1972 graduate of Elsberry High School. She was married to William Henry “Billy” Reeves, Jr. for several years and they were blessed with one daughter, Amanda. Glenda was employed for 23 years at Monsanto manufacturing company. She later worked for nine years as a caregiver and cook at the St. Mary’s Convent in O’Fallon, MO. Glenda was married again on January 17, 2003 near Osage Beach, MO to John William McCoy. She enjoyed flower gardening, antiquing and her collectables. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Glennon and Helen “Pat” Bahr; and her former husband, Billy Reeves, who died August 17, 1998. Survivors include beloved husband of thirteen years, John McCoy of Troy; one daughter: Mandy Reeves of Troy; and four grandchildren: Caleb Reeves, Joslyn Reeves, Danielle Reeves and Josephine Burns. Glenda also leaves her brother, Glennon Bahr and his wife, Debra, of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Donna Boedeker and her husband, Joe, of Elsberry; several nieces, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 5, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
