Obituary of William Dennis Dawkins

Funeral Services for William Dennis “Bill” Dawkins of Winfield, MO will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Winfield, will officiate with burial in New Salem Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Vaughan, Darryl Vaughan, Dan Casey, Aaron Taylor, Don Ramey and Clayton Gordon. Mr. Dawkins, 86, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 11, 2016 at St. Peters Manor Care Center in St. Peters, Missouri. Born February 10, 1930 in Winfield, he was the son of Ira and Mary Jane Page Dawkins. Bill was united in marriage on October 16, 1998 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Margie M. Cronin Casey. He was employed for many years as a crane operator in the commercial construction industry, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #513 in St. Louis. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Mary Jane Dawkins; his sisters, Ada Dawkins and Peggy Holmes; and his daughter, Angie McDaniels. Survivors include his beloved wife of 18 years, Margie Dawkins of Winfield; three step-sons, Dan Casey and his wife, Kim, of St. Charles, Doug Vaughan and his wife, Tracy, of Winfield, and Darryl Vaughan and his wife, Deanna, of Winfield; two step-daughters: Kathleen Ramey and her husband, Don, of St. Peters, and Eileen Casey of Manchester, Missouri; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves several cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
