Obituary of Sarah Ann Schmidt

Funeral Services for Sarah Ann Brown Schmidt of Winfield, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Jeremy Veninga, of Family Christian Faith Church in Warrenton, MO, will officiate with burial in the Troy City Cemetery in Troy, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Brown, Jeremy Veninga, Joshua Brown, Brendan Schmidt, Kyle Schmidt and Vincent Veninga. Sarah, 34, passed away Friday evening, July 15, 2016 at her home. Born March 23, 1982 in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of Gary Wayne and Gwendolyn Sue Brickey Brown. Sarah was united in marriage on July 14, 2014 in Jamaica to Paul Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Margaretha C. Hunter; and her father-in-law, Raymond Schmidt. Survivors include her husband of 2 years, Paul Schmidt of Winfield; her daughter, Jazmine Jay of Bartlett, TN; her step-daughter, Megan Schmidt of Winfield; and two grandchildren: Nolan Youngberg and Ryleigh Hurt. Sarah also leaves her parents, Gary and Gwendolyn Brown of Troy; her grandfathers: James Schmidt of Afton, IL and James Hunter of Warrenton, MO; two brothers: Joshua Brown of Troy and Jason Brown of O’Fallon, MO; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Judy and Dave Hegeman of Arnold, MO her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve and Kelly Schmidt of High Ridge; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
