Obituary of Carole Clara Brown

Memorial Services for Carole Clara Brown of Elsberry, MO will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Paul Garven, pastor of the Elsberry United Methodist Church, will officiate. Inurnment will be held in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry. Ms. Brown, 81, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 29, 2016 at her home. Born January 1, 1935 in Milwaukee, WI, she was the daughter of Harold John and Gladys Geisinger Paap. Carole earned both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education. She was a business teacher for many years including Elsberry High School, Ladue High School and Bowling Green High School, where she retired in May, 1997. Carole was a member of the Red Hatitudes, Study Club and the Elsberry Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Paap and Gladys Lewis. Survivors include her daughter Rachelle Henke and her husband, Russ, of Foristell, MO; and two grandchildren: Jack and Faith Henke. Carole also leaves two sisters: Muriel Green and her husband, Marty, of O’Fallon, MO, and Cookie Ray and her husband, Bill, of Eolia, MO; one brother, John Carlyle of Moline, IL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until time of the service at 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
