Obituary of Mary Leona Smith

Funeral Services for Mary Leona Smith of Foley, MO will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Fr. Richard Rath, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe, MO, will officiate. Mrs. Smith, 62, passed away early Thursday morning, March 24, 2016 at her home. Born February 6, 1954 in St. Charles, MO, she was the daughter of Jerome Cyril and Dorothy Evelyn Callender Heil. Mary was a 1972 graduate of the Fort Zumwalt School District. She was united in marriage on October 4, 1996 in St. Charles to Timothy Howard Smith. She was a homemaker and had a passion for gardening and art. Mary loved being a grandmother to Eliza. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerome “Jerry” Heil. Survivors include beloved husband of 19 years, Timothy Smith of Foley; one daughter, Crystal O’Bryan of Houston, TX; three sons: John O’Bryan IV of Wentzville, MO, Ryan O’Bryan of Foley, MO and Eric McClane of St. Ann, MO; and one granddaughter, Eliza O’Bryan of Foley. Mary also leaves her mother, Dorothy Heil of Old Monroe; three sisters: Kathy King of O’Fallon, MO, Joan Burkemper and her companion, Kevin, of Old Monroe and Tracy Gowan and her husband, Ron, of Portland, OR; three brothers: Raymond Heil and his wife, Ronda, of Elsberry, MO, Kevin Heil and his wife, Kathy, of Washington, IN and Mark Heil and his wife, Lisa, of Marshfield, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
