Obituary of Wayne E Boyd

Funeral Services for Wayne E. Boyd of Montgomery City, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Sammy Lorton, pastor of the Whiteside Holiness Church, will officiate with burial in the Troy City Cemetery near Troy. Mr. Boyd, 89, passed away Friday afternoon, February 26, 2016 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO. Born January 9, 1927 in Kit Carson, CO, he was the son of John N. and Ada May Cutler Boyd. Wayne was a 1943 graduate of North Denver High School in Denver, CO. He served his country in the United States Navy from April 20, 1944 until he was honorably discharged on November 17, 1947. He was united in marriage to Margaret Labor. Wayne was employed as a Union Bricklayer, retiring in July, 1989. He was married again on July 18, 1998 in St. Charles, MO to Margie Jewel Cox. Wayne was a 55 year member of the Harmony Masonic Lodge #61 in Denver. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ada Boyd; his first wife, Margaret Boyd who died December 26, 1990; one son-in-law; one half-brother, Ralph Dale Batton; and one step-daughter. Survivors include his beloved wife of 17 years, Margie Boyd of Montgomery City; two sons; two daughters; one step-son and one step-daughter. Wayne also leaves ten grandchildren; four great-grandsons; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
