Obituary of Robert Emmett Browne
A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert Emmett Browne of Winfield, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Troy, MO. Father Tom Wissler, pastor of Sacred Heart Church, will officiate. Burial with full Military Honors will be in St. Ann Catholic Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Dan Browne, James Browne, Billy Luu, Tom Hiebert, Marty Broderick, Phil Cowell and Eduardo Granado.
Mr. Browne, 73, passed away Friday afternoon, January 15, 2016 at Barnes-Jewish-St. Peters Hospital in St. Peters, MO. Born November 4, 1942 in St. Louis, he was the son of Maurice Eugene and Julia Victoria Butchko Browne. U.S. Navy Retired, he served his country from September 29, 1961 until he was honorably discharged on April 30, 1981, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. Robert was united in marriage on February 16, 1966 in Subic City, Philippines to Adelita Fulo Granado. This union was blessed with three children: Daniel, James and Maria. After serving 20 years in the U.S. Navy, he was employed for many years as an aircraft inspector for GKN Aerospace in St. Louis, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the American Legion Post #94 in Troy, MO and the John Birch Society. Robert was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Julia Browne.
Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Adelita Browne of Winfield; two sons: Daniel Browne and his wife, Deborah, of St. Louis, and James Browne and his wife, April, of Troy; one daughter, Maria Luu and her husband, Billy, of St. Louis; six grandchildren: Lauren, Alex, Theresa, Kaylinh, Jenna and Ryan; and one great-grandchild, Julia. He also leaves several cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2016 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
