Obituary of Richard Hinton Brown
Mr. Richard Hinton Brown, 73, of Elsberry, MO passed away Wednesday evening, January 6, 2016 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born February 13, 1942 in Elsberry, he was the son of Dick Hinton and Mary Edith Skinner Brown. Richard worked as a laborer for La Crosse Lumber Yard before retiring after 20 years of employment. Although he was of Baptist faith, Richard enjoyed services and music of all faiths. He liked to watch Sci-Fi and Western movies. Richard’s favorite hobby was drawing architectural house plans. He loved his dogs, especially he beloved Fred, who he adopted out when he moved to the nursing home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Mary Brown; three sisters: Nancy Taft, Juanita Strobl and Iris Presley; and his special friend, Bernice Rice.
Survivors include two brothers: Roger Brown of Sunland, CA and John Brown and his wife, Barbara, of South Gate, CA; and one sister, Edith Kay Montique of La Mirada, CA. Richard also leaves several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A private inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Elsberry Health Care Center (or) Heartland Hospice in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
