How I loved your mother--she was the model of kindness, love and happiness. I remember being at your house for birthday parties or overnight visits and she was always so welcoming, full of smiles, honoring any request we might pose to her and AWESOME dinners and snacks! I remember being there overnight during the winter and she pulled down my shirt sleeve inside my coat, just like she did you girls. I still smile thinking about that. It made me feel like one of you. For a young girl with self-esteem issues, that was a tremendous gift. And then, Martha never seemed to age. Her hair became whiter, but she maintained such a youthful face and glow. You couldn't look at her and not smile. She always had a tiny little waist, too. How did she do that when she baked those wonderful cakes and cookies? Thank you for sharing your mom with me. She walks with the angels now--your Dad being one of them.

Our thoughts and prayers to all of Martha's families. They didn't come much sweeter and kinder than Martha. We have known her since our high school days, when her family ran a unique lunchroom across the street from the old school. Martha always had a smile and greeting for everyone she met! Sweet memories. She may never have known how much we admired and loved her. Rest in peace, dear lady.
