Obituary of Dorothy Ann Gnade

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy Ann Gnade of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe, MO. Msgr. Gregory Schmidt and Father Rich Rath will officiate with burial in St. Charles Memorial Gardens in St. Charles, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Heard, Danny Horne, Kyle Boettcher, Brad Wilson, Steve Hageman, Michael Bieker and Avery McGee. Mrs. Gnade, 78, died Saturday morning, December 12, 2015 at her home near Old Monroe. Born August 8, 1937, in Brooklyn, AR, she was the daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth Adams Horne. She was united in marriage in November, 1953 in Arkansas to Wilbourn L. McGee. This union was blessed with three children: Debra, Lonnie and Carol. Dorothy was employed as a cashier at the O'Fallon IGA for more than 20 years. Wilbourn preceded her in death on September 25, 1985. She was married again on June 13, 1987 in Old Monroe to Charles Henry Gnade. She worked for many years as a cook for Immaculate Conception School near Old Monroe, retiring in 2002. Dorothy was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Elizabeth Horne; three brothers: Forrest Horne, Robert Horne and William Horne; five sisters: Mary Morgan, Birtie Masek, Alma Ellis, Lavene Heard and Irene Pellerin; and one grandson, James Patrick Bieker. Survivors include her beloved husband of 28 years, Charles Gnade of Old Monroe; one son, Lonnie McGee and his wife, Lilly, of Old Monroe; and two daughters: Debra Bieker and her husband, Michael, of Byron, GA, and Carol McGee of O'Fallon, MO. She also leaves three grandchildren: Holly Bieker, Erin Boettcher and Emily Wilson; five great-grandchildren: Jaden Luckett, Josie Boettcher, Olivia Boettcher, Avery McGee, and Ivy Boettcher; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2015 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield; and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of the Mass at Immaculate Conception Church near Old Monroe.
