Obituary of Irene Margaret Dobelmann
Irene M. Dobelmann
Funeral Services for Irene Margaret Dobelmann of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Church near Old Monroe. Father Richard Rath, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery near Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Eric Dobelmann, Christine Dobelmann, Rachael Trujillo, Jenny Palenik, Michelle Baker, Steven Dobelmann, Stephanie Dobelmann, Michael Dobelmann, Maria Ward and Joe Dobelmann.
Mrs. Dobelmann, 91, passed away Friday morning, October 30, 2015 at the Lincoln County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Troy. Born January 28, 1924 in St. Louis County, MO, she was the daughter of Joseph Michael and Mathilda Ann Menne Scherrer. She was a graduate of Bayless High School in St. Louis. Irene was united in marriage on September 5, 1942 in Affton, MO to Joseph John Dobelmann. This union was blessed with four sons: Marty, Dennis, Mark and Vernon. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church near Old Monroe. Following the death of her husband, she moved to Colorado to be near her sons. While living there she was active in Oblates, and was a member and past-Regent of the Daughters of Isabel. In Missouri, she was a member of the Old Monroe Lions Club and the Ladies Sodality at Immaculate Conception.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mathilda Scherrer; an infant son, Dennis Dobelmann; one brother, Alfred Scherrer; one sister-in-law, Bernice Scherrer; and her beloved husband of 51 years, Joseph Dobelmann, who died February 2, 1994.
Survivors include her three sons: Marty Dobelmann and his wife, Linda, of Cannon City, CO, Mark Dobelmann and his wife, Kathy, of Louisiana, MO, and Vernon Dobelmann and his wife, Margaret, of Cheyenne, WY; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Roy Scherrer of St. Louis; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Scherrer of Tennessee; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. during the visitation at the Funeral Home.
