Obituary of Betty Jane Pingleton

Memorial Services for Betty Jane Pingleton of Troy, MO, formerly of Winfield, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Winfield, will officiate with inurnment in the Columbarium in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Mrs. Pingleton, 88, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 27, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, MO. Born June 7, 1927 in Milwaukee, WI, she was the daughter of Martha Burke. Betty was united in marriage of April 23, 1975 in Camdenton, MO to Glendon Keith Pingleton. She worked as a Logistics Specialist at McDonnell Douglas from 1953 until her retirement in 1984. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winfield. She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Meling; her step-father, Knute Meling; three brothers: Donald, Gordon and Lester; twin sisters, Kathryn and Carol; and her beloved husband of 36 years, Glendon Keith Pingleton, who died June 25, 2011. Survivors include two sons: Daniel Hagan and his wife, Shirley, of Orlando, FL and Roger Hagan and his wife, Susan, of Winfield; eight grandchildren and twenty three great-grandchildren. Betty also leaves one step-son, Kevin Pingleton and his wife, Sandi, of St. Peters, MO; three step-daughters: Patricia Settles and her husband, Mick, of St. Charles, MO, Debra Douglas of Elsberry, and Michelle Creech of Troy, MO; one sister, Helen Beitzel and her husband, Robert, of Wilmette, IL; other relatives and friends.
