Obituary of Minnie Jewel Spraul

Mrs. Minnie Jewel Spraul, 70, of Winfield, MO passed away Friday evening, August 7, 2015 at The Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry, MO. Born September 12, 1944 in St. Genevieve, MO, she was the daughter of Hubert Wood and Edna Kemp. Minnie was united in marriage on April 29, 1960 in St. Louis, MO to Benjamin Frank Spraul. This union was blessed with one daughter, Janice, joining Ben’s children: Larry and Deborah. She was a loving housewife. Minnie loved to sing and dance to country music. She had a passion for drawing; but most of all, Minnie was delighted to spend her time with family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Wood and Edna Nunnally; her brother, Herb Wood; her son-in-law, Venny Dowell, Sr.; and two sisters: Doris Hoffman and Ruth Huskey. Survivors include her beloved husband of 55 years, Ben Spraul of Winfield; their daughter, Janice Dowell and her significant other, Timothy Henricks, of Moscow Mills, MO; her step-children: Larry Spraul of St. Charles, MO and Deborah Reed and her husband, Mike, of Elsberry; three grandchildren: Venny Dowell, Jr., Christopher Dowell and his wife, Crystal, April Dowell and her fiancé, Matthew; seven step-grandchildren: Jennifer Wilson and her husband, Bryan, Christine Ross and her husband, Jeremy, Lena Woodson and her husband, Bill, Tiffany Carnahan and her husband Dayne, Denise Bishop, Amanda Spraul and Tison Spraul; and many great-grandchildren. Minnie also leaves her half-brother, Leroy Nunnally of St. Louis; two half sisters: Lana Nunnally of St. Louis and Leola Gatsky of St. Louis; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Private Memorial Services for Immediate Family will be held in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield.
