Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Earl Edward Lester Funeral services for Earl Edward Lester of Moscow Mills, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 9, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Tom Zish, pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church, will officiate with burial in Asbury Cemetery near Foley, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Dave Moellering, Niles Leverington, Scott Gordon, Dennis Gordon, Tony Holmes, Kevin Moulton, Gary Shields, Terry Mershon, Ted Evans, Pete Reinhold and Pat Henry. Mr. Lester, 50, died Thursday, February 2, 2006 in rural Lincoln County near Elsberry. Born November 14, 1955 in Troy, MO, he was the son of the late Robert Oran and Rosetta Belle Taylor Lester. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army from December 20, 1972 until December 3, 1974. During his overseas deployment, he was stationed in Korea. He was employed for many years as a carpenter in both residential and commercial construction, and was a member of the Carpenters Local #1875 in Winfield. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lester on September 9, 1983, and by his mother, Rosetta Belle Lester on May 29, 2005. Survivors include two children: Hattie Rose B. Lester and Darrin D. Hanes, both of Winfield; and two sisters: Patricia "Patsy" Kinsler of Elsberry, and Barbara Jean Fletcher and her husband, Kevin, of Winfield. He also leaves one nephew, Casey Henry and his wife, Trisha; one niece, Jodi Mauzy and her husband, Roger; several great-nieces and great-nephews: Emma, Clare and Bo Henry, Savannah and Leighton Vaughn and Isabella Mauzy; one aunt, Norma Housewright; cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
