Obituary of Rose Marie Tayon

Funeral services for Rose Marie Tayon of Winfield, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Winfield, will officiate with burial in the Whispering Winds Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Alfred Harding, Alan Tayon, David Gravens, Rob Tayon, Zach Nicholson, and Colin Nicholson. Mrs. Tayon, 93, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 5, 2015 at her home near Winfield. Born October 2, 1921 in Duluth, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Catherine LeMieux. Rose was united in marriage on June 18, 1938 in Bowling Green, MO to Edward Alfred Tayon. This union was blessed with three children: Ray, Mary, and Joyce. She was a homemaker and proud of her Chippewa heritage. She was preceded in death by her son Ray Edward Tayon; daughter Mary Levernz; and her beloved husband of 72 years, Edward Tayon who died November 30, 2010. Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Anne Tayon of Winfield; daughter-in-law, Mary Tayon of St. Peters; four grandchildren: Meta Vollmer of St. Charles, Donald Leverenz of Winfield, Robert Tayon of St. Charles, and Catherine McCullough of O’Fallon; eight great-grandchildren; seven great, great-grand children and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Thursday July 9, 2015 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
