Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Dale Jackson Ray Funeral services for Dale Jackson Ray of Elgin, IL (near Chicago) were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2005 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Lee Hartley, pastor of Ramsey Creek Baptist Church officiated with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Jarred Ray, Dave Ray and Chris Fuller. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Suddarth, Darryl Evans, Gary Sharpe, Randall Tolbert and Billy Collins. Mr. Ray, 67, died Wednesday afternoon, October 5, 2005 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, IL. Born September 3, 1938 in Elsberry, MO, he was the son of the late Ishmael Earl "Jumbo" and Hazel Tuggel Ray. Dale was a 1956 graduate of Elsberry High School. In 1958, he attended and graduated from X-Ray Technician College at St. Louis County Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He worked for several years as a chief radiology technician at Shriners Hospital in St. Louis, MO, and then later as a sales manager for Picker Medical Imaging Products in St. Louis, MO. He was united in marriage on August 28, 1988 in Lenoxa, KS to Regina Annette Snider. He then worked for many years as a vice-president and director of regional sales for Phillips Imaging in Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl "Jumbo" and Hazel Ray. Survivors include his beloved wife of 17 years, Regina Ray of Elgin, IL; two sons: Mark Kenton Ray and his wife, Kristina, of St. Louis, MO and Timothy Andrew Ray of St. Louis, MO; one step-daughter, Julia Intawiwat and her husband, Anthony, of North Carolina; two brothers: Richard Ray and his wife, Brenda, of New London, MO and Wayne Ray of Elsberry, MO; two grandchildren: Zoe and Liam Ray of St. Louis, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be given to Shriner's Children's Hospital in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
