Obituary of Edward Albert Guinness

Edward Albert Guinness, Sr., 84, of Lake Saint Louis, MO passed away early Wednesday morning, May 20, 2015 at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, MO. Born August 18, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Albert Edward and Margaret Hickey Guinness. At a young age, he ran away to join the Merchant Marines. His grandfather (Albert Ezra Guinness) helped found and served as the first president of the Uniformed Fire Fighters Association of New York City. Edward was self-employed for many years as an independent Insurance Agent in the St. Charles County area, including the Daly Agency. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Margaret Guinness; one brother, Richard Guinness; and one sister, Vivian Guinness. Survivors include three sons: Edward A. Guinness, Jr. and his wife, Virginia, of Webster Groves, MO, Robert J. Guinness and his wife, Sarah Hunt, of Elsberry, MO, and Richard F. Guinness and his wife, Karen, of Ringoes, NJ; one daughter, Elizabeth A. “Beth” Guinness of Bordentown, NJ; eleven grandchildren: Erin Stratton and her husband, Jason, Robert Guinness and his wife, Anne-Mari, Joseph Guinness, Katherine Guinness and her husband, Grant Bollmer, Patrick Guinness and his wife, Stephanie, Daniel Guinness, Benton Guinness, Amy Baum, Emily Mallek, Kyle Guinness and Kendra Guinness; and four great-grandchildren: Pyry Guinness, Kilian Guinness, Aarre Guinness and Lila Stratton. He also leaves several cousins, other relatives and many friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Christ’s Church, 6930 Mexico Road, St. Peters, MO. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY. Memorials may be made to the Albert Ezra Guinness Uniformed Fire Fighters Association of New York Memorial Fund in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
