Obituary of Helen Jeannette Evans

Funeral Services for Helen Jeannette Evans of Elsberry, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Burial will be in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be James Sinclair, Jesse Evans II, Cameron Michaels, Jamie Momphard, Jason Evans, Mike Spies, Michael Spies and Kelly Tucker. Ms. Evans, 67, passed away early Thursday morning, May 7, 2015 at Troy Manor in Troy, MO. Born September 18, 1947 in Pana, IL, she was the daughter of Jesse Frank Torres and Marcella Sinclair. Helen worked for several years as a laborer for Forrest Keeling Nursery in Elsberry. She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Torres; two brothers: Joseph Torres and Sylvester “Buddy” Torres; and two sisters: Virginia Skaggs and Esther Harden. Survivors include her children: Virginia Spies and her husband, Michael, of Elsberry, James Sinclair and his wife, Macie, of Bowling Green, MO, Cheryl Rogers and her fiance, Jamie Momphard, of Elsberry, Jesse Evans II and his fiance, Cathy Gordon, of Elsberry and Cameron Michaels (Chistopher Evans) and his wife, Robyn, of Harvester, MO; one step-son, Jason Evans and his girlfriend, Marla Posey, of DeSoto, MO; fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Helen also leaves her mother, Marcella Wilson of Illinois; her step-mother, Dorris Torres of Illinois; seven sisters: Theresa Bunker, Mary Valenzuela, Romona Lawson, Sue Holt, Lisa Lee, Margaret Willson, all of Illinois and Marcie Willson of California; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
