Carter Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Kathleen Frances Rhoades Funeral services for Kathleen Frances Rhoades of Winfield, MO were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2005 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Pastor Brett White of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Troy, MO will officiate at the service with burial in New Salem Baptist Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Revo Rhoades, Jr., Bryce Rhoades, Brent Rhoades, Larry Penrod, Chris Penrod and Cody Dennison. Mrs. Rhoades, 83, died Tuesday afternoon, October 18, 2005 at Willow Care Center in Hannibal, MO. Born September 8, 1922 in Winfield, MO, she was the daughter of the late Ovie Nathanial and Opal Florence Davis Overall. She was united in marriage on August 12, 1939 in Winfield to Virgil LaVoid Rhoades. She worked for several years as a folder for H & W Gossert in Troy, MO. In earlier years, she attended New Salem Baptist Church near Winfield, until she began attending Fellowship Baptist Church in Troy. Kathleen was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County. Besides her parents, Ovie and Opal Davis, she was preceded in death by one sister, LouAnna Tiedemann, who passed away in 1976; one infant brother, who passed away a birth; and her beloved husband of 57 years, Virgil LaVoid Rhoades, who passed away August 22, 1996. Survivors include one son: Revo DeWayne Rhoades and his wife, Karen, of Winfield, MO; two daughters: Carol Ann Dennison and her husband, Gary, of Winfield, MO and Sharon Fay Harris and her husband, Dwayne, of Hannibal, MO; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Visitation were held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2005 at Carter Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
