Obituary of James Henry Patton

Memorial Services for James Henry Patton of Augusta, GA, formerly of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Paul Garven, pastor of Elsberry United Methodist Church, will officiate with inurnment in Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Don Lovelace, Tom Kelly, Michael T. Patton, James R. Patton, Bob Kobermann, Al Koster, Sam Buck, Mark Huebner and Bill Kelly. Mr. Patton, 76, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 15, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, MO. Born June 18, 1937 in Paynesville, MO, he was the son of Joe Nick and Dorothy Grace Wright Patton. He was a 1957 graduate of Clopton High School. He worked for MEMC as an assembly line worker, cleaner and on the rackline, retiring in 1998 after 25 years. He loved horses, watching westerns on TV and cats and dogs. He enjoyed visiting and chatting on the phone with friends, traveling, and going to Ameristar Casino. He was a member of the Clopton Alumni Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Nick and Dorothy Patton. Survivors include his daughter, Carla Sue Huebner and her husband, Mark, of Augusta; one brother, Mike Patton and his wife, Barb, of Elsberry; and one sister, JoAnn Hartley of Sarasota, FL. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many dear friends. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Elsberry Nutrition Center or the American Cancer Society in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home; 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
