Obituary of Sarah June DeGeare

Funeral Services for Sarah June DeGeare of Foley, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Allen Calkins, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Gray Summit, MO, will officiate with burial in Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Donnie Kinsler, Bobby DeGeare, David Preston, Bob Harrison, Paul Bishop, John Matthew Wakefield, Bill Yokel and Billy Collins. Mrs. DeGeare, 75, passed away early Friday morning, April 11, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, MO. Born January 7, 1939 in Graves, KY, she was the daughter of Hilliard Martin and Virginia Idell Riddle Roberts. After high school she went on to LPN School. She was united in marriage on June 30, 1984 in Elsberry to Bobby Harold DeGeare. Their home was blessed with six children: Paul, Vicki, Sherry, Bobby, Kim and Tammy. She was a housewife. Mrs. DeGeare was a member of Star Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hilliard and Virginia Roberts; one sister, Jean Williams; and two daughters, Sherry Wakefield and Tammy Boedeker. Survivors include her beloved husband of nearly 30 years, Bobby DeGeare of Foley; two sons, Paul Bishop and his wife, Donna, of Troy, MO and Bobby DeGeare and his wife, Diane, of Elsberry; two daughters, Vicki Green and her husband, Greg, of Moscow Mills, MO and Kim Price and her husband, Ricky, of Old Monroe, MO; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves one sister, Hilda Loos of Pacific, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
