Obituary of Charmian Edna Lamb

Funeral Services for Charmian Edna "Charm" Lamb of St. Peters, MO, formerly of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Paul Garven, church pastor, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Rich Lamb, Joe Reed, Todd Gambill, Tom Helfer, Tommy Helfer, Cass Tippit, Billie Tippit, John Lamb, Jr. and Levi Love. Mrs. Lamb, 85, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Barnes-St. Peters in St. Peters, MO. Born April 2, 1928 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Frank Louis and Adel Hattie Sommerlad Blaettermann, Sr. She was united in marriage on August 17, 1946 in St. Louis, MO to Johnnie Eugene Lamb, Sr. This union was blessed with four children: Johnnie Jr., Judith, Madelyn, and Janice. She was a member and long-time treasurer of the Elsberry United Methodist Church. An avid bowler, Charm played on various leagues for many years. She was a former member of the AEP Club in Elsberry, and enjoyed Bingo. Charm was also known for always sharing a joke, and being quite funny and colorful. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Adel Blaettermann, Sr.; one brother, Frank Blaettermann, Jr.; one son, Johnnie Eugene Lamb, Jr. in 1991; a son-in-law, Bob Dwiggins; and her beloved husband of nearly 37 years, Johnnie Lamb, Sr. on August 8, 1983. Survivors include three daughters: Judith Dwiggins of Elsberry; Madelyn Helfer and her husband, Tom, of Elsberry, and Janice Tippit of St. Charles, MO; one daughter-in-law, Karen Lamb of Elsberry; nine grandchildren: John Lamb, Jr., Lacy Dwiggins Gambill and her husband, Todd, Neil Helfer, Billie Tippit and his wife, Amanda, Jennifer Helfer Love and her husband, Levi, Jaime Dwiggins Reed and her husband, Joe, Rich Lamb, Tommy Helfer and Cass Tippit; and nineteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the Hefer Project through the United Methodist Church in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home; 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
