Obituary of Eileen Augusta Younggren

Funeral Services for Eileen Augusta Younggren of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Mark Payne pastor of Calvary Chapel, will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons. Ms. Younggren, 97, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 14, 2013 at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy, MO. Born February 23, 1916 in Palermo, ND, she was the daughter of George E. and Denora A. Nelson Whitford. She worked as a secretary for Cass Bank and Trust, retiring in 1980 after 30 years of employment. She then worked as a secretary for the Laborers School in High Hill, MO, retiring in 1995. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Denora Whitford; one daughter, Shirley Bray in 2008; and two brothers, Richard and George Whitford. Survivors include four grandsons: Ron Bray of St. Louis, MO, Richard Bray and his wife, Debby, of Winfield, Robert Bray and his wife, Tammi, of Foley, MO, and David Bray of St. Louis; one granddaughter, Linda Scherer and her husband, Robin, of Foley; seven great-grandchildren and eight great, great-grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Byron Whitford and his wife, Ardythe, of Port Lucy, FL; one sister-in-law, Betty Whitford, of Crown Point, IN; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
