Obituary of Mildred Fern Dietz Witt

Funeral Services for Mildred Fern Dietz Witt of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Jeffrey Gordon, pastor of Elsberry Holiness Church, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons: Allen Siders, Jr., Gene Trower, Donnie Ray Kinsler, Tommy Reed, Robert Wallace, Steven Wallace, David Wallace and Shane Sanderson. Mrs. Witt, 91, passed away early Thursday morning, June 27, 2013 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born July 4, 1921 in Cedar Springs, MO, she was the daughter of John Franklin and Sarah Louisa Bland Allen. On March 12, 1951 in Berryville, AR, she was united in marriage to Thomas Beveridge Dietz. She was later united in marriage on September 19, 1993 in Stockton, MO to Arthur Lee Witt. She was a homemaker and attended Elsberry Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sarah Allen; three brothers: Edward Allen, George Allen and Cecil Allen; two sisters: Stella Ellermann and Edna Davis; one son, Charles Siders; one granddaughter, Rhonda Clark; one grandson, Christopher Reed; one great, great-grandson, Colton Crosson; her husband, Thomas B. Dietz in 1976; and her husband, Arthur L. Witt in 2007. Survivors include four sons: Allen Siders and his wife, Beverly, of Elsberry, Melvin Dietz of Columbia, MO, Marty Dietz and his wife, Brenda, and Ben Dietz, all of Elsberry; seven daughters: Joyce Hare of Harrisburg, PA, Linda Clark of Elsberry, Julia Hoermann of Kirksville, MO, Donna Dryden of Elsberry, Vickie Sanderson and her husband, Ron, of Bloomsdale, MO, Connie Wallace and her husband, Robert, of Elsberry, and Betty Reed and her husband, Bob, of Louisiana, MO; twenty-nine grandchildren; forty-four great-grandchildren; and two great, great-grandchildren. She also leaves one loving step-daughter, Violet Teed and her husband, Fred, of Stockton, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
