Obituary of Richard Gene Kingrey

Graveside Services for Richard Gene Kingrey of Foley, MO, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Ozark Memorial Park in Joplin, MO. Mr. Kingrey, 85, passed away late Tuesday afternoon, June 4, 2013 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, MO. Born August 19, 1927 in Joplin, he was the son of Fred Ray and Agnes Marie Stewart Kingrey. He served his country in the United States Army Air Force from December 14, 1945 until being honorably discharged on July 2, 1947. He was united in marriage on February 27, 1950 in Joplin to Dolores Marie Warren. This union was blessed with three children: Richard, Linda and Kevin. He worked as a city mail courier for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in August 1987 after 27 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Agnes Kingrey; three brothers: Billy Ray Kingrey, Robert S. Kingrey and Donald A. Kingrey; one step-grandchild; and his beloved wife of 40 years, Dolores Kingrey on April 6, 1990. Survivors include two sons: Richard Kingrey and his wife, Tina, of Poteau, OK and Kevin Kingrey and his wife, Sheila, of Foley; one daughter, Linda Kingrey of Thornton, CO; six grandchildren; one step-grandchild; three great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. He also leaves one brother, Kenneth Kingrey and his wife, Pat, of Joplin; one sister, Lois M. Jones of Joplin; two sisters-in-law: Betty Kingrey and Doris Kingrey, both of Joplin; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
