Obituary of Laura Caroline Keeteman
A Mass of Christian Burial for Laura Caroline Keeteman of Old Monroe, MO, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church in Old Monroe. Fr. Phil Krahman, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Keeteman, Michael Keeteman, Jeff Keeteman, Kevin Keeteman, Don Westhoff and Mark Westhoff.
Mrs. Keeteman, 91, passed away early Monday morning, February 25, 2013 at her home in Old Monroe. Born July 14, 1921 in Old Monroe, she was the daughter of Ignat C. "Bud" and Dorthea Witte Burkemper. She was united in marriage on October 4, 1941 in Riverside, CA to Charles William Keeteman, Jr. This union was blessed with six children: Linda, Harry, Jerry, Denny, Neal and Dean. She worked as a private nurse. She was a member of the Bingo and Blitz Clubs. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church where she was also a member of the Ladies Sodality.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Dorthea Burkemper; three sisters: Anysia Burkemper, Alice Westhoff and Dorothy Halter; and her beloved husband of 50 years, Charles Keeteman, Jr. on May 5, 1992.
Survivors include one daughter: Linda Bickel and her husband, Karl, of Moscow Mills, MO; five sons: Harry Keeteman of Moscow Mills, Jerry Keeteman of Old Monroe, MO, Denny Keeteman and his wife, Lisa, of Old Monroe, Neal Keeteman and his wife, Teresa, of Old Monroe, and Dean Keeteman and his wife, Lynn, also of Old Monroe; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She also leaves other relatives and many, many friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Building Fund in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home; 3838 East Highway 47; P.O. Box 253; Winfield, MO 63389.
