Obituary of Beverly Ann East

Beverly A. East, 57, of St. Anthony, MO died at 10:43 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO after suffering a stroke. Bev was born in Kansas City, KS on June 10, 1955 to Chum and Doris (Plemmons) VanHooser. On June 25, 1977 at their small farm near Faucett, MO, Bev was united in marriage to Dan East, who survives at their home. Dan and Bev celebrated 35 years of loving marriage on June 25, 2012. Bev worked in her early years in Kansas City, mostly for Whitaker Cable Corp., where she met her husband, Dan. She and Dan moved to Jefferson City, MO in 1979. She was a loving homemaker and mother to her two children: David and Terrie, whom she adored. For the last 25 years Bev worked for the library at the Jefferson City Public High School. Bev and Dan moved to a small farm near St. Anthony in 2006 while she continued to work at the high school and the family farm. Bev adored days spent on the farm with her family and friends. She was known by those nearest to her to be full of love, compassion, and laugher. Bev lived a faithful life for the Lord. Bev is survived by her husband Dan; two children: David East of Jefferson City and Terrie East of Columbia; her mother, Doris (VanHooser) Gaub of Crocker, MO; one brother, Greg VanHooser of Osceola, MO; and one uncle Don L. VanHooser. She was preceded in death by her father, Chum VanHooser; father-in-law, Bill East: uncles: Jim Plemmons, Tipton VanHooser, Darrel VanHooser, Dorrel VanHooser; and grandparents: Allie and Alma Plemmons and Oscar and Montie VanHooser; and other aunts and uncles. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23rd at Star Hope Cemetery in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Randall Germann, a family friend, will officiate. Services provided by Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes; 107 S. 5th St, Elsberry, MO (63343) (573) 898-2181. The family asks for memorials be made to a charity or church of the donor's choice.
