Obituary of Robert Lainel Wade

Graveside Services for Robert Lainel Wade of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville, MO. J. Larry Carter of Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes, will officiate. Mr. Wade, 92, passed away Saturday night, February 2, 2013 at Elsberry Health Care Center in Elsberry. Born January 22, 1921 in Mannington, KY, he was the son of Eula and Emma McKintosh Wade. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II from September 12, 1942 until being honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant on April 19, 1946. He was united in marriage on June 10, 1944 in England to Pearl Reeves. This union was blessed with two sons: Randell Michael and Geoffrey Kendall. He worked as an inspector for General Motors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eula and Emma Wade; one son, Geoffrey Wade on April 13, 1998; one brother, Edward Wade; two sisters: Phonita Dorothy Ladd and her husband, John, and Ruth Simmons and her husband, Ernest; and his beloved wife of 65 years, Pearl Wade on August 31, 2009. Survivors include one son, Randy Wade and his wife, Susan, of Elsberry; seven grandchildren: Tyger Hill and her husband, Kevin, Storm Davis, and Christy Steen and her husband, Chris, all of Elsberry, Angie Williams of Wright City, MO, Elizabeth Wade of Quincy, IL, Danny Payne, and Dustin Payne, both of KY; and three great-grandchildren: Hailey Williams, Maddox Wade and Ella Gay. He also leaves one sister, Agness Shemwell of Herrin, IL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
