Obituary of Dennis Dale Burbridge

Funeral Services for Dennis Dale "Denny" Burbridge of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Richard Pillers, pastor of the Elsberry Assembly of God Church, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Yancy Burbridge, Erik Hummel, Allen Mills, Steve Rivers, Mike Hartley, Landon Wood, Bob Gladney and Jordan Gladney. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Burbridge, Marshall Suddarth and Donnie Wolfe. Mr. Burbridge, 75, passed away Friday afternoon, January 4, 2013 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, MO. Born November 3, 1937 in Paynesville, MO, he was the son of Raymond K. and Clara Gertrude Suddarth Burbridge. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He was united in marriage on March 14, 1970 in Elsberry to Gloria Jean Howland. He was employed for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Fred Weber Construction in St. Louis, MO. He started his career with Briscoe & Ray Quarries in Lincoln County. He was a member of the Operating Engineers in St. Louis, Local #513. He served his community for several years as an Elsberry City Alderman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond K. Burbridge and Clara Gertrude Collins. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 43 years, Gloria Burbridge of Elsberry; five daughters: Denise Wolfe and her husband, Donnie, of Elsberry, Debbie Bedinghaus of St. Petersburg, FL, Danielle Wood and her husband, Landon, of Moscow Mills, MO, Deirdre Sauberan and her husband, Kenny, of Granite Falls, NC, and Lena Rivers and her husband, Steve, of Claremore, OK; one son, Yancy Burbridge and his wife, Jaimi, of Troy, MO; a special family friend who made his home with the Burbridge family, Erik Hummel and his wife, Stephanie, of Columbia, MO; seventeen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He also leaves his brother, Kenny Burbridge and his wife, Loraine, of Elsberry; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
