Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Woodrow Vaughn Funeral Services for Woodrow Vaughn of Elsberry, MO, were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2006 at Elsberry First Baptist Church in Elsberry. Rev. Jeff Fernberg and Rev. Doug McGlauglin officiated with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers were Brett Vaughn, Steven Vaughn, Chad Vaughn, Ronnie Vaughn, Bill Wehde Jr., Larry Vaughn and Terry Hammond. Honorary pallbearers were Don Beck and Jerry Waggoner. Mr. Vaughn, 91, passed away early Thursday morning, January 12, 2006 at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, MO. Born September 16, 1914 in Twin Falls, ID he was the son of the late Curry Aaron and Harriet Ann (nee Cox) Vaughn. He graduated from Elsberry High School in 1934. He was united in marriage on December 26, 1935 in Bowling Green, MO to Martha Edell Suddarth. This union was blessed with two sons: James and Ronald. He worked many years as a milling machine operator at McDonnell-Douglas in Bridgeton, MO. He was a member of the Elsberry Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curry and Harriet Vaughn; one son, James Aaron Vaughn; two brothers: Charles Vaughn and Macky Vaughn; one sister, Iris Hammond and one brother-in-law, Ivan Hammond. Survivors include his beloved wife of 70 years, Martha Edell Vaughn of Elsberry; one son, Ronald Keith Vaughn, Sr. and his wife, Arlene, of Elsberry; and one daughter-in-law; Sandra Vaughn of Winfield, MO. He also leaves five grandchildren: Brett Vaughn and his wife, Shanda, of Moscow Mills, MO, Steven Vaughn of Springfield, MO, Chad Vaughn of Carlsbad, CA, Ronnie Vaughn and his wife, Michelle, of Elsberry, and Cheryl Wehde and her husband, Bill, Jr. of St. Paul, MO; eight great-grandchildren; and several in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the Elsberry Healthcare Center or Alzhemiers Association in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
