Marjorie “Margie” J. Colbert

 

          Funeral Services for Marjorie “Margie” June Colbert of Elsberry, MO, formerly of Winfield, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield, MO.  Dan Meers and David Meers, will officiate with burial in Winfield Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Colbert, Kurt Colbert, Justin Colbert, Ryan Colbert, Brendan Colbert, Brandie Rose Colbert, Billy Irwin and Ronnie Vaughn.

            Mrs. Colbert, 87, passed away early Saturday morning, July 27, 2019 at Mercy Lincoln Hospital in Troy, MO.  Born January 13, 1932 in Winfield, she was the daughter of Walter Alanzo and Blanche Lorene Irvin Cannon.  Margie was united in marriage on July 20, 1952 in Winfield to William Everett “Butch” Colbert.  She was a member of the Foley Baptist Church, but more recently attended the Winfield Baptist Church.  Margie was well known around the community for her baking abilities, especially her cakes

            She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Blanche Cannon; two sons, Mickey in 1963 and Randy in 2016; and her beloved husband of 51 years, Butch Colbert on January 2, 2004.

            Survivors include one son, Bill Colbert and his wife, Marilyn; a daughter-in-law, Julie Colbert; grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Margie also leaves four sisters:  Barbara Jeffries, Vivian Turnbull and her husband, Richard, Rene Meers and her husband, Ken, and Donna Adams and her husband, John; two sisters-in-law: Elba Colbert and Anna Dean Fessler; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

            Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2019 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.  Memorials may be made to Elsberry Healthcare Center and Missouri Baptist Children’s Home in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O.
