Obituary of Edythe Elizabeth Dickmeyer

Edythe E. Dickmeyer A Mass of Christian Burial for Edythe Elizabeth Dickmeyer of Winfield, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday July 5, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe, MO. Father Phil Krahman, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery near Old Monroe. Mrs. Dickmeyer, 91, passed away Sunday morning, July 1, 2012 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. Born January 30, 1921 in Old Monroe, she was the daughter of John Andrew and Oneita Pollard Hoelting. She was a graduate of St. Charles High School in St. Charles, MO; and attended Northeast Missouri State Teacher's College in Kirksville, MO for two years. She returned to Old Monroe to teach at Bals School. She was united in marriage on August 7, 1944 in Old Monroe to Wilbert U. Dickmeyer. This union was blessed with three sons: John Richard, James Stephen and Thomas Joseph. Edythe and Wilbert owned and operated Dick's Malt Shop between Winfield and Old Monroe for almost 25 years. She was a member of the Troy Chapter of DAR. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe and was active in the parish visiting committee. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Oneita Hoelting; two brothers: Percy Hoelting in 1981 and John Wilson Hoelting in 2003; and her beloved husband of 61 years, Wilbert Dickmeyer who died February 25, 2006. Survivors include three sons: Rich Dickmeyer and his wife, Dixie, of O'Fallon, MO, Thomas Dickmeyer and his wife, Jaci, of Winfield, and James Dickmeyer of Winfield; three grandchildren: Tim Dickmeyer and his wife, Alison Campbell, of Columbia, MO, April Hill and her husband, Charles, of St. Charles, and Garrett Tiller of Winfield, and two great-grandchildren, Nate Schuler and Alex Hill. She also leaves several in-laws: Ginger Hoelting of Old Monroe, Walter & Shirley Dickmeyer of Elsberry, Naomi Sommers of Old Monroe, and Millie Dickmeyer of Easton, PA; several cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home.
