Obituary of Ronald Ray Tayon

Ronald Ray Tayon Memorial Services for Ronald Ray Tayon of Winfield, MO, will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010 at New Salem Baptist Church in Winfield, MO. Rev. Roger Alford, of Kansas, will officiate, assisted by David Thompson of New Salem Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Ronald, 62, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 4, 2010 at his home in Winfield. Born May 22, 1948 in St. Charles, MO, he was the son of Delmar Ray and Helen Lee Birkhead Tayon. He was a 1966 graduate of Winfield High School. He attended college at Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. He served his country in the United States Army from January 25, 1968 until being honorably discharged on January 18, 1970. He was united in marriage on April 4, 1981 in St, Charles, MO to Diane Michelle Jurgens. This union was blessed with two children: Eric Ray and Catherine Michelle. He was employed as a merchant marine for Kirby Inland Marine. He was a member of the Old Monroe Ducks Unlimited and the Nooker Duck Club. He was a Benefactor member of the NRA. He was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Delmar Tayon. Survivors include his beloved wife of 29 years, Diane Tayon of Winfield; one son, Eric Ray Tayon of Winfield; and one daughter, Catherine Michelle Tayon of Cape Girardeau, MO. He also leaves his mother, Helen Tayon of Winfield; one brother, Ed Tayon of Winfield; one sister, Connie Tayon-Lomax and her husband, Larry, of Winfield; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
