Obituary of Mary Jean Rolfes

Mary Jean Rolfes A mass of Christian Burial for Mary Jean Rolfes of Winfield, MO, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Old Monroe, MO. Fr. Philip Krahman, church pastor, and Msgr. Gregory Schmidt of St. Louis, MO will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Rolfes, Steve Rolfes, Dan Rolfes, J.D. Rolfes, Doug Revell, and Robert Homann. Mrs. Rolfes, 71, passed away early Thursday morning, July 7, 2011 at her home in Winfield. Born January 2, 1940 in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Aloysius Frank and Genevieve Smith Hallerman. She was a 1958 graduate of St. Elizabeth Academy in St. Louis. She was united in marriage on September 2, 1961 in Ferguson, MO to John William Rolfes. This union was blessed with four children: Thomas, Constance, J. Stephen and Daniel. She worked for many years as a corporate secretary for Lincoln Steel; retiring in December 2001. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was also a member of Ama-De-Casa Extension Club, Blitz Club (card) and the Ladies Sodality. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aloysius and Genevieve Hallerman. Survivors include her beloved husband of nearly 50 years, John Rolfes; three sons: Tom Rolfes and his wife, Teresa, of Dardenne Prairie, MO, Steve Rolfes and his wife, Cheri, of Winfield and Dan Rolfes and his wife, Karen, of O'Fallon, MO; one daughter, Connie Revell and her husband, Douglas, of St. Charles, MO; and eight grandchildren: Becky, Courtney, J.D., Jennifer, Ben, Austin, Jacob and Zachery. She also leaves one sister, Betty Homann and her husband, Bob, of St. Charles; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Old Monroe.
