Obituary of June Marie Nelson

June Marie Nelson Memorial Services for June Marie Nelson of Elsberry, MO will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Corey Tobias of Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes will officiate. Ms. Nelson, 66, passed away Monday afternoon, April 11, 2011 at the Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy, MO. Born June 26, 1944 in Kansas City, MO she was the daughter of John and Gussie May Hudson Damato. She was united in marriage on July 12, 1984 in Kansas City, KS to John Monroe Nelson. She worked for several years for a hospital linen service. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gussie Damato; fourteen siblings; and her beloved husband of 3 years, John Nelson, who died September 13, 1987. Survivors include her life companion, Don Brewer of Elsberry; five daughters: Tina Marie Bounds of Kansas City, KS, Tammy Ann Hopkins and her husband, "Hoppy", of Cabot, AR, Pattie Diane Zumwalt of Elsberry, MO, Lisa Diane Zacker of Denver, CO, and Tina Louise Bounds of Elsberry, MO; five grandchildren: June Marie Chappell, Brenda Renee Chappell, Steven Stark, Kayla Stark and Jennifer Stark; and nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves one sister, Rhonda Edwards and her companion, Dale Cruise, of Poplar Bluff, MO; her dear friend and care giver, Missy Mitchell; a dear niece, Tabitha Butters; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until time of the services at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
