Obituary of Marion Merle Harding

Marion Merle Harding, Sr. Funeral services for Marion Merle Harding, Sr. of Elsberry, MO, will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Jim Calvin of Elsberry will officiate with burial in New Hope Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Marion Harding, Jr., Rusty Kinion, Jeremy Deane, John Harding, Kevin Hailey, Gary Bayless, Rick Wood and Mike Harding. Marion, 52, passed away Monday afternoon, February 7, 2011 at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy, MO. Born June 21, 1958 in Louisiana, MO he was the son of James William and Betty Jane Busch Harding. He was employed at R & B Quarry near Foley, MO for a number of years. He then worked for Lindell Riffle at gas stations in Elsberry for several years. The last nine years, Marion was employed as an auto mechanic for Rick Wood Repair in Elsberry. He was preceded in death by his father, James William Harding and a brother, Michael Harding. Survivors include his mother, Betty Harding of Elsberry; one son, Marion Harding, Jr. of Elsberry; six daughters: Lori Stutts and her husband, William, of Foley, Amanda Marsten and her husband, Johnny, of Foley, Katie Turnbull and her husband, Allen, of Troy, MO, Janie Surls of Troy, MO, Ginger Deane and her husband, Jeremy of Moscow Mills, MO, and Kim Harding of Elsberry; and eight grandchildren. He also leaves his special friend, Peggy Riffle, of Elsberry; three brothers: Melcher "Mick" Harding and his wife, Linda, of Bowling Green, MO, John "Mitch" Harding of Paynesville, MO and Mark Harding of Wright City, MO; a sister, Trish Parsons of Elsberry; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
