Obituary of John Edward Hines

John Edward "Herc" Hines Funeral Services for john Edward Hines of Old Monroe, MO, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Eugene Rahmeier, pastor of Friedens United Church of Christ in Moscow Mills, MO will officiate with burial in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Cox, Joe Cox, Joe Engle, Bob Hanff, Shawn Sullivan and Ron Harke. Mr. Hines, 65, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 24, 2010 at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. Born November 5, 1944 in St. Louis, MO he was the son of William Madison and Bernice S. Wedemeyer Hines. He served his country in the United States Army from August 12, 1965 until being honorably discharged on November 14, 1966. He worked for many years as an over the road truck driver for Witte Brothers Trucking. He was a member of the Old Monroe American Legion Post #420. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bernice Hines. Survivors include two sons: Dale A. Hines of Old Monroe and William Hines and his wife, Shelley, of Winfield; two grandchildren: Eli and Emily Hines; one brother, Jerry Hines and his wife, Elaine, of Troy, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
