Obituary of Thomas E. Tippit

Thomas E. Tippit Funeral services for Thomas Evans Tippit of High Point, NC, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 17, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Richard Turnbull of Winfield, will officiate with burial in Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Tippit, Shea Tippit, Doug Gaylor, Nathan Rogers, Ronald Rogers, Travis Tippit, Mike Gnade and Bill Tippit. Mr. Tippit, 65, died Wednesday evening, September 12, 2007 at High Point Regional Hospital in High Point, NC. Born April 22, 1942 in Nashville, TN, he was the son of Willis and Mildred Lehman Tippit. He was united in marriage on September 28, 1968 in Foley, MO to Phyllis Elaine Keeton. This union was blessed with three children: Laura Palmer, Thomas Shea and Leland Christopher. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army from 1966 until 1968. Mr. Tippit was employed for many years as a computer consultant. He was a certified member of the American Production Inventory Control Society (APICS). He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Mildred Tippit; and one brother, Bernard "Bernie" Tippit. Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 39 years, Phyllis Tippit of High Point, NC; two sons: Thomas Shea Tippit of High Point, NC, and Leland Christopher Tippit of Winston-Salem, NC; one daughter, Laura Palmer Gaylor and her husband, Doug, of Reno, NV; and two grandchildren: Kathryn Elizabeth Tippit and Dylan Douglas Gaylor. He also leaves two brothers: Allan Tippit and his wife, Glenda, of Dover, TN, and Bill Tippit and his wife, Juel, of St. Charles, MO; three sisters: Rita Gifford of Old Monroe, MO, Norma Rogers and her husband, Ronald, of Winfield, and Diane Tippit of Troy, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Memorials may be made to the Family of Thomas E.
