Obituary of Kenny Lynn Hammond

Funeral Services for Kenny Lynn Hammond of Elsberry, MO will be at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Kris Hagemeier, pastor of Elsberry First Christian Church, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Ron Vaughn, Ronnie Vaughn, Jesse Vaughn, Dave Robbins, Ken Harris and Dean Tapley. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Runyon and Harvey Dewitt. Kenny was born on May 24, 1973 in Jackson, TN, he was the son of Terry Wynn and Evelyn Poplin Hammond. He passed away Wednesday morning, January 17, 2024 at his home near Elsberry. Kenny was a graduate of Mansfield Texas High School. He went on to earn his Computer Tech Degree from St. Charles Community College. Kenny worked as a computer tech for H&R Block. Before moving from Texas, Kenny owned an automotive machine shop. He did a total restoration on a ’56 Chevy with his dad. Kenny was a member of the Case Knives Collector Club. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Hammond. Survivors include his father, Terry Hammond, Sr.; and his brother, Terry Hammond II and his wife, Dana, of Elsberry. Kenny also leaves his niece, Lakyn Hammond-Walters and her partner, Amanda, of Camden, AR; his great-niece, Jodi Hammond of Camden; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home.
